Lake Chicot State Park - Lake Village
Eight miles northeast of Lake Village lies the 6,000+ acres of Lake Chicot State Park, offering access to a variety of south Arkansas attractions. In addition to camping, swimming and fishing boat rentals, the park interpreter provides programs that include guided walks, sunset barge tours through cypress swamps, nature talks, films, demonstrations and living history from the pioneer and Civil War periods. Lake Chicot's Delta environment attracts a large variety of birds, and the Park offers year-round bird watching opportunities. Since the Park is located in the Mississippi Flyway, birding opportunities are enhanced during spring and fall migrations. Annual birding events include eagle and waterfowl watching, a spring migration count and the Christmas Bird Count. Guided levee, lake and trail tours emphasize this unique area and its diverse birdlife. Call ANN WILLIAMS for LakeShore's special Bird Watching Package—870-265-2238.
